Jay Westerman

Owner of Obscurities Tattoos and Piercings in Dallas, Texas, started his piercing career in June 2004. He received training through the Apprenticeship Primer Course from the Professional Piercing Information Systems (P.P.I.S.) and under the mentorship of Pamela Spector, an Obscurities employee who has been piercing since 1995. Jay is a caring professional, dedicated to providing superior service and information to his customers. With them, he discusses all aspects of piercing -- placement, jewelry size and color, and safety.

Obscurities, which maintains the largest selection of body jewelry and stretched piercing jewelry in Texas, uses state-of-the-art sterilization protocols, including the use of Statim Autoclaves, to provide a level of safety and sterility above current industry standards.

Jay's passion for the industry extends beyond his business. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Piercers (www.safepiercing.org) since 2007, and is certified in Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control training from Health Educators, Inc. He sits on the boards of both Health Educators, Inc. and New Hole, LLC, a company that makes instruments for the piercing industry.
